**Your talents and experience are needed! The Lake Wynonah Board of Directors (BOD) has reactivated the Dam Committee and is seeking new members. This group of Membership volunteers will have important work to do. The PA DEP has begun to focus on the Lake Wynonah Dam. The BOD anticipates that over the next several years, the required scope of work needed to address Seepage as well as the Spillway project will be developed and decisions involving necessary studies, consultants, contractors, financing, grants, possible assessments and more will be made. In addition, monitoring the dams could also be included. We need people with an understanding of complex construction projects to join the Dam Committee to advise the BOD. An engineering background will also be helpful. Members interested in joining this important committee are urged to apply by December 18th. This project is expected to take several years from the study phase to completion of the construction.Applications can be found on “Connect”, the Lake Wynonah website, or obtained at the Business Office.** ... A Message from the LOVE OUR LAKES (LOL) CAMPAIGN
**LEAVE LEAVES OUT OF THE LAKE**
The time for fall property cleanup is upon us. Our two lakes are fed by a drainage area that supplies rain and snow melt runoff that flows down swales, drainage ditches, driveways, and roadways to ultimately get into the lakes. In the fall, removing leaves and organic debris from these areas helps to reduce the amount of phosphorus entering the lakes in the form of a phosphorus laced tea. Phosphorus promotes weed and algae growth in the warmer seasons. Plus it reduces oxygen needed for a healthy fish population. Properties all through the community, not just lakefront homes, have an impact on the runoff.
Several things will help this issue :
1.Please do not rake or blow leaves from the yards into the lakes or runoff areas headed toward the lakes.
2.Make sure contractors do not use these areas as a dumping ground for what they collect.
3. Remove leaves when possible. Our “burn pile” area in the maintenance yard provides a convenient place for disposal of leaves and debris.
4. Composting and mulching are also good approaches, using the results to feed and protect planting areas where they will be absorbed by desired plants.

Thank you for your consideration. Keeping our lakes clean and beautiful is a responsibility we all share. It is in everyone's best interest!

It’s a surprise!!!!
The Lodge Committee sadly announces the departure of John Verno, the backbone of our Lodge! John has served the Lake Wynonah Community through the Lodge since 2009; first as a bartender, then as bar manager, then as chairman of the Lodge Committee and Lodge Manager. John’s knowledge of the bar business and dedication to making the Lodge Restaurant and Pub the central amenity for the Lake Wynonah Community will be greatly missed.
The Lodge Committee and the Board of Directors invite the community to stop by the Lodge on Friday, October 6th to bid him farewell and good luck as he pursues his dream of living in Maine. There will be free pizza (2 slices per person) and cupcakes provided by the BOD, while supplies last. The kitchen will be open for fryer food and appetizers only from 5-8:30 and the bar will be open from 5-11 with last call at 10:30. Reservations will not be taken for this event because we feel we would have to put a time limit on seating, we are hoping members stagger their visit throughout the evening to wish John well.
We are sure sad to see him go, but are so happy that he is getting to move to Maine! We wish him nothing but the best going forward and hope he stops in to visit when he’s in our neck of the woods!

A message from John Verno
Dear Lake Wynonah Community,
This announcement is to formally announce my decision to leave the Lodge as Lodge Manager. As I announced at Trivia last week, I am retiring from the Police Department here in Pennsylvania. I have accepted a position in Maine with the District Attorney of Aroostook County. My new role will be a Victim's Advocate.
This is a very exciting time for me, but a sad one as well. It was a decision that was not taken lightly. I have enjoyed working with my Lodge family! We made the Lodge a favorite hub to spend a weekend evening, trivia night, or Sunday Football for all of our residents and members. The friends and acquaintances that I have made over the years are too many to count. I am blessed for the opportunity to be apart of making the Lodge and the Lake a great place to live!
I started volunteering at the Lodge in 2009 when I moved into the Lake. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that 14 years later, I am still a part of the Lodge. As in all things in life, the Lodge has had many ups and downs. And if not for the volunteers, employees, members and residents, we could not have made The Lodge what ii is today! This is a tribute to all those who have helped make it what it is today!
My hope as I step down from my role as Lodge Manager, that the tradition of thanking the volunteers, staff, servers, kitchen, bartenders, and most of all the Lodge Committee continues. A "Cheers" to everyone!
As I finally step back and follow my dream to permanently move to my home in Maine, my memories of running the Lodge have been moving and sentimental. Change is very difficult, however, the solid foundation that has been built will hold the traditions, policies, and routines and will be contined. Moving forward....never looking back! It's the journey not the destination that makes it all worthwhile.
I want to take this time to thank our Board President, Lisa Laudeman Jones and our very own Frank Miller, Board Vice President and Board Liaison for the Lodge, for their continued support, not only for me but for the Lodge, Lodge Committee and our community! My sister, Deb Brewer! Including the Committee members, both present and past! It has truly been a pleasure to work for the betterment of the Lake Wynonah Community.
You are in good hands with Heather, Liz and Mary running the Business Office. Please take the time to thank Randy and his team for all they do to keep the Community running. Randy just celebrated 45 years working at Lake Wynonah! They work the most and are thanked the least.
But most importantly, I want to thank Marc who has always been there for the Lodge, Community, and of course...ME!
I will greatly miss all of you. You are forever a part of my life, wherever it may take me.
Love forever,
John Verno "Angry Bartender" GO EAGLES, You KIDDIN ME. Dallas S____s!!!
